What is a cèilidh? A cèilidh (pronounced kay-lee from the Gaelic for "party") is a traditional Irish or Scottish social gathering that usually involves dancing, folk music, storytelling, and great company!
What should I wear? Anything you feel comfortable moving in! We suggest wearing layers in case you get too hot or cold.
What type of shoes should I wear? We recommend shoes that you feel comfortable walking energetically in! A shoe with a flat or low heel is best.
Do I need to know how to dance? No! Our special guests from the Royal Scottish Dance Society of Seattle will be there to guide us through the dances. We'll all be learning and having fun together!
Do I need a dance partner? Absolutely not! This type of dancing doesn't require a partner.
Dancing is encouraged, but not required.
